A little more about me (I feel safe here):
I'm American by birth and Irish/Ukrainian by heritage. I served in the US Army and was at NASA for over a decade. I have lived in 4 nations with 4 separate forms of government. I speak all/part of 9 languages. I studied religion for over 30 years from full-gospel churches in America's South to masjids in Malaysia and temples in China. I am not a Theist, but also not a hypocrite. I made this choice much like others have the right to do so. (Cont'd)
I have been 'online' since before public Internet. I have seen a dream go to waste, in many cases, but still have faith that it can be an avenue for productivity.
I believe we can turn this platform into a respectable, responsible place for us to seek recreation and enjoy ourselves & celebrate technology for its learning potential, rather than ruin it through abuse.
If you stand with me, I'd like to be your friend! 😎
@m15t3r_dr4g0n We appear to have similar attitudes and even a bit of a similar past. I was at NSA in the Army when the concept of a world wide web was being considered. A lot of us had high hopes for a global communication that would bring people together and make information widely available. That dream has been dashed. I'd still like to see that aspiration come to pass, but I'm becoming more doubtful daily.

Welcome. Nice to have another dragon. Both of you will love it here. This is how internet was supposed to work. J has built what you describe. It will be a cultural change for many of the newcomers.
Hopefully, this will be a welcomed cultural change by newcomers. I cannot fault them for their apprehension or blame them for their actions, which may be a result of poor examples. For many, it is all they have known. The question is which direction they want to go. 😉
The potential for human enlightenment is unimaginable, if you really consider it. However, like many things, it requires human self-discipline and social responsibility to attain.
I think we can get there!
I have not mentioned race or gender because it is unimportant, in most cases. I see people as 'energy' - hearts / minds, rather than colors / cultures. That energy is important. I believe it truly determines how we interact in Life with others. You have seen those favored by the status quo be cancelled as well as those not in favor rise up. I firmly believe this can happen for all.
I am human, so...not perfect. I make mistakes but I own them. I prefer others who do the same. (Cont'd)
