Anyone have any remedies or advice for a pinched nerve in the lower back? Currently bed ridden unable to stand or walk properly πŸ˜₯β€πŸ’–

@stueytheround yeah, got anti inflammatory things β€πŸ’– they arent really helping much :/

@lilyunsub Omg! I had this happen once in my neck. They ended up prescribing gambipenton for it (Nerve pain pain killer) and it didn't help all that much. I ended up going to a masseuse and that's what did it! I hope you find relief soon. Thats just awful. I hope you aren't alone and have some help?

@KallieMarie I got gabapentin for it too, isn't helping tho. Dad is helping us so we aren't alone with it, just unable to do much of anything from bed.

@lilyunsub Yeah that was my experience from it. It really didnt help that much until I got a massage cause it loosened up whatever muscles were constricting it. I am glad you aren't alone. Keep us posted. Crossing my fingers for you.

@KallieMarie. What she said massage, sometimes heat to the muscles alternating cold to loosen up? @lilyunsub so sorry many hugsπŸ’— naybe trigger point massage? Push the muscle group that is tenderest and hold far a few second then release. Repeat a few times, rest do again a few times till the muscles relax.

@damselfly59 @KallieMarie booked in for massage in 2 weeks already so hopefully that will help. Trigger point massage might be worth trying tho, will let ya know how it goes πŸ’–β€πŸ₯°πŸ’–β€πŸ’–

@lilyunsub @damselfly59 Fingers crossed for you! The pain is no good. I did something to my back moving and I am still in so much pain. I need to try to go to the doctor soon. I keep thinking it will get better on its own and it hasn't!

@KallieMarie @damselfly59 I been on that too, its been a few months of pain and progressively gotten worse but the other day it just peaked and havent been able to walk properly since πŸ’–β€ hope you get some relief too

@lilyunsub @KallieMarie
Also chiropractor? The cracking can be intimidating but pretty fast relief if you get a good cracker...er back bender

@lilyunsub robaxacet to gain some mobility to at least be able to use the bathroom. then accupuncture. can you get in to see someone good? not all acupuncturists are created equal.

@singlemaltgirl mum saw a really good one for her shoulder, will see if we can get in to see her. Think it's covered by our insurance too.

@lilyunsub I've used a TENs unit for my back pain along with the standard cocktail of anti-inflammatory meds. My doctor has also called in a medrol dose pack and sometimes that has helped. Best of luck!

@LoraL think my mum has a tens unit, thank you for the reminder β€πŸ’–

@lilyunsub you're very welcome, hope you get some relief soon!

@lilyunsub

Ice. Sounds counter-intuitive, but it helps with the surrounding inflammation. Otherwise, rest is best - you just have to give it some time. I've had it happen several times now and it's no fun - especially when you have to use the bathroom and it feels like the toilet is all the way on the ground.

@whonat on the bright side I feel 10ft tall when I do xD im sorry you've experienced it a lot too, wouldn't wish it on anyone β€πŸ’–β€ ty for the suggestions

@lilyunsub
I have a minor spinal malformation that causes nerves to be pinched and inflamed. The anti-inflammatory meds help, but not nearly as much as PT and OT, including regular stretches and changes in sitting, standing, screen, keyboard, footwear. 3 years ago I was considering surgery, now I can manage the pain and do most things I want to.

@lilyunsub ouch, I can sympathize. Only thing that has helped me are anti-inflammatory drugs like Naproxen and good old pain killers. Heat packs can help along with gentle massage if the muscles have knotted. I'd avoid chiropractors, but a good osteopath is often worth seeing to help find the root cause.
Long term, keeping mobile, stretching, Yoga and building core strength will help support the lower back. I also stand at work and on the pc at home.
Hope you get some relief from it soon.
