It is hardly ever the day of. It is usually the day after.

Amazing 5-hour kayak tour in the waters of northern Washington. Got to see a seal, harbor porpoise pod, bald eagles, an old lighthouse complex, and beautiful scenery. A really fun adventure.

Another adventure, a kayak journey starting in the Rosario Strait. The rain just makes it more interesting.

delicious Frelard tamales and award-winning beer from El Sueñito in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. the queso with chorizo is wonderful as well.

They are doing amazing things with chocolate to create delicious candies and treats. And they have candy making classes. 🍫 🍬

after a friend called me in a slight panic because they got an email about their "presence" on the Dark Web, I did a little educating about what it was, how to spot spam/spoofing emails, and to not engage. my days of doing pro bono tech therapy continue....

New comic book day! World’s Finest, Nightwing, Superman (Absolute Power tie in), and Wonder Woman (another tie in). I like how the tie ins have a partner hero in each.

the upgrades and changes that Firaxis Games is making for Civilization VII are amazing, innovative, and exciting. February 2025 cannot come soon enough. And so great to see my friends at the studio.

I’ve seen nitrogen filled tires on cars. Never seen nitrogen used for running shoes. 👟

was talking with friends in our comics/gaming chat group and discussion moved to the new Dragon Age. I used Keep to find out what my saves looked like, and it didn't have Inquisition. now, I'm "replaying" DA:I just because that's how my gaming brain works. I regret nothing.

My organized brain loves numbers. In the 9 months since I was laid off, these are the numbers for my job search. Despite the big numbers, all I need is 1 to make a great career. Feeling good about my chances.

I thought the Seattle area didn't get thunderstorms. Quite the light and sound show going on this evening!

I know it is hard to beat East Coast delis and sandwich shops. MSM in Tacoma still puts together a nice Reuben. The search continues…

spoke with a friend who was a recruiter for Meta before she was laid off 18 months ago. she said she has been contacted by four major Seattle-area companies who are looking to hire recruiters in expectations of a hiring push for the fall. so, some hope on the horizon for those of us still looking for our next career.

looks like I'm going to need to find a new home for the recipes site. Squarespace has become too expensive for me right now. looking for alternatives. not how I expected my day to start.

tried making a cheese sauce for pasta that used roasted garlic-infused milk. the sauce turned out great, but I'm definitely going to have to up my roasted garlic addition to it. love being experimental in the kitchen!
