Borderlands 3 and all the DLC are now finished. They tugged on the heartstrings more than previous titles. Looking forward to Borderlands 4 when it is ready, but Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is still out there for me now.

Me (playing Borderlands): "These two robots. One is cranky all the time. The other is positive all the time. Who does that remind you of?"

K (thinks for a moment): "Us?"

Me (laughing): "No! Pinky and The Brain! It sounds like they got the voice actors for the robots ... wait, which one of us is cranky???"

checking out my NCAA bracket, which I haven't done in a while because I felt like I was so terrible in early rounds. turns out, I can finish as high as 7th in a 40-person bracket. not in the money but probably my highest finish in many years.

spent the first 2.5 hours this morning "pinned" on the couch with a kitty on top of me. while I tried to enjoy the vibrations of purr and the warmth, my brain was trying to chastise me for not "being productive," which sent me on a death spiral. I don't need a nemesis. I am my own worst enemy.

Why just have chicken Parmesan when you can have chicken Parmesan meatballs with a homemade tomato sauce? Thanks Alton Brown 😱

Tygo: "I'm helping!"

Narrator: He, in fact, was not helping.

Risotto has such a luxurious mouthfeel when done properly. I have struggled with heat and liquid addition in the past, but by taking my time and showing patience, you can achieve rice nirvana as well. Arborio rice seems to make the best risotto.

We visited Triple XXX as our first restaurant in the area when we moved to the PNW a couple of years ago. Great food and experience. Disappointed in the (temporary) closure but excited to see what Burgermaster does with the location. Still need to try their food though.

one of these days, I will go to bed before midnight. this is not such a day.

This corn and rice casserole was the perfect companion for Rothe Steak from cookbook.

Chicken sandwiches always seem to have the most variety. You can do so many things with the bird and still have a great meal. How you make (or buy) your pesto will really change the flavor of the sandwich!

For March, my health journey took a detour. I gained 1.5 pounds, and my body fat percentage increased by 0.7%. Other than ice hockey, I really was in a physical (and mental) funk for the month. April really needs to be a reboot month.

Living with someone who is such a talented baker is a godsend. Blueberry cake is light and fruity.

In the middle of making it, I called an audible. I do not regret the change. Baked pasta with sausage, peppers, tomatoes, and onion. All covered in mozzarella cheese. Paired with wine from a dear friend.

The quintessential American meal is some variation of meat and potatoes. It can be found on every menu and in every restaurant. While splitting them up might be sacrilege to some, either can stand on its own and shine. These baked potatoes are great as an entrée but pairing them with a strip loin steak is a delight.

if Funko doesn't make a POP! figurine of Godzilla napping in the Colosseum, they are missing a wonderful opportunity. so cute!

Through 3 levels in the hiring process and potentially moving to 4 when I get the second worst email from the company.

"At this time, we have made the decision to pause all recruitment efforts for this particular role."

Second time this happened. Wasn't as deep for the first one, but is this becoming a trend? Hoping it is just a glitch in the Matrix and things will get moving again very soon.

Still available/willing to chat about any comms role (internal/external/corporate).

I love soups and stews. The bringing together of flavors and the aromas they create while cooking are evocative and enticing. This Italian soup reminds me of home and comfort. It is remarkably easy to make, and it will bring the feeling of warmth to your place.
