Every once in a while, my D&D group will bring up something from a previous adventure (an encounter, a NPC, a death). Those are the moments that I, as the DM, get really pleased with the stories I try to tell. They linger. ☺️

I feel you, Tina. Expecting chocolate chips and getting raisins in my cookies is a crime against culinary nature.

In the 3 months since my layoff, I have:
• Searched for my new career opportunity
• Expanded my professional network
• Reworked my resume/cover letters
• Talked with recruiters/hiring managers
• Appreciated the help from my friends/former colleagues

But I also have:
• Restarted my food blog with new recipes
• Joined an ice hockey team
• Focused on my physical health
• Volunteered with Extra Life/Seattle Children’s
• Brainstormed with other D&D DM

move to the West Coast, they said. no more hurricane natural disasters, they said.

from the USGS on most dangerous volcanos in the United States. Rainer is 37 miles from my home (as the crow flies) and St. Helens is 76 miles away.

new focus: worry about the process and improving on the process, and the goal will take care of itself.

These fritters remind me of a kid with the ingredients but appeal to adult me in the variety of usages they have. Whether as a side dish or part of the main course, the sweet corn comes through and adds a great texture to any meal. Pairing them up with black bean salsa and eggs makes a great brunch.

Replaying through Borderlands 2 is reminding me how Handsome Jack is the worst/best video game villain ever.

Excuse me, do you have a moment to talk about our goddess, Mothra?

Dinner was not quite the success I was hoping, so I instituted a new rule. When the cook declares culinary failure, restitution is made in the form of a Blizzard. Those are the rules.

Look in the lower right hand corner. This card was presented to me for my media work at MagicCons, but it is a memory reminder of all the great people I worked with at the events and the wonderful attendees I met.

There is a Baltimore restaurant that coats their French toast with Cap’n Crunch cereal. But I wanted something a little crunchier and a little less sugary. Corn flakes makes the perfect coating, resulting in a loud exterior to counterbalance the creamy interior.

last night, my Razer BlackShark V2 Pro mic wasn't working. I didn't have time to troubleshoot before my D&D game, so I set it aside. this morning as I try and figure out the problem, it starts working. yay.

but I really wish all of my problems were fixed in this way. that would make things so much easier right now.

Crab rangoons are my all-time favorite appetizer when I go out to eat. Crab and cheese just seem to go together. I wondered how my favorite filling would go in a grilled cheese sandwich. As it turns out, pretty darn well.

completed my first writing test assignment in (I don't know how many) years. it was my first PR writing test ever though. pretty sure I overthought everything.
