@AskTheDevil it’s so important to acknowledge statistical likelihood in discussions about violence and I can empathize with wanting to feel defensive about that but it’s unhelpful at best. Public discourse and media representation have a huge impact on people’s personal expectations and even their ability to identify a statistical pattern repeating in their own lives.

If you are a man and, when presented with gender-related statistics that don’t look good for men such as rates of intimate partner violence, you say “yeah but actually women also—“ you are most likely eroding the trust your female friends and relatives have in you. Statistics are not about you personally. Stop taking them personally and listen.

Got my septum done today! It’s so so so itchy. And also it looks a little crooked but I know the piercer was very careful with the placement so I think it’s two things: a) my nose is crooked and b) now it’s swelling at the piercing site. I always get mixed feelings with body mods—I love it immediately, then I feel anxious and doubtful, then I love it again. I’ll swing back the other way soon.

@SaltyVeruca I guess you’re one of the unlucky ones whose piercing closed up. My husband took his out like 3 years ago and he can still put things through the hole (he puts paperclips in it to upset his coworker lol).

Changed out a piece of jewelry I haven't removed in like 8 years, and made an appointment to get my septum pierced Saturday <3 self-care comes in many forms.

Struggling with wanting everyone to like me today. It's much easier to remember that nobody is liked by EVERYONE and that that's okay, when the negative thoughts are not directly connected to a recent interaction.

And by the way this is the second time in as many weeks that a transformer has blown and caused our power to go out.
