I’ve discussed this recently with my like-minded friends, and here’s the thing: Horror/Thriller movies/tv shows need to update their flashlight game. I no longer “buy” the small, dim, incandescent flashlight that barely illuminated a postage stamp. It’s just lazy writing (crutch) for built-in atmosphere. My relatively inexpensive torch can blind you and lights up the whole floor of the house in a power outage. Stop leaning on this old prop - you can do it. (TIA writers, yours truly).
