In a response to the wildfires that ravaged our community last month, our local ATV club has started a campaign to get members to carry fire extinguishers. As we are often out on the trails in the forest, perhaps we will be in the right place at the right time to prevent the next fire.

End of my driveway yesterday. Smoke from a sudden and quickly spreading wildfire in the next subdivision. Packed up the dogs and some clothes and got out, about 1 hour before the official evacuation. Don’t expect to get back for a few days but all signs are that there is no damage to my home. Lots of houses burned down though, about 15 people my family knows are suddenly without a home. Thankfully no fatalities, fire is still raging.

The doggies let me sleep in until 7:30 this morning!
