Made two new dishes tonight, broccoli in garlic sauce, and red cooked pork belly (Hong Shao Rou). Will make both again, they we so good.

Made absolutely wonderful Ruben sandwiches with leftover corned beef. Spicy Russian dressing, Swiss. Used two cast iron pans to toast/flatten like a panini press. 😋!

It’s Friday Pizza Day! Is that a thing? I’m making it a thing (at least today). Provolone, pepper jack, pepperoni, mushrooms and jalapeño. Also topped with the excellent Melindas pizza sauce, it’s like liquid pepper flakes. Oh, and pepper flakes 🤪!

Wings! Is the game still on? Served sauce on the side, but 24 hour marinade in soy, oil, chili oil, garlic and ginger. So good, with and without sauce.

Pizza! So photogenic, you’d think it came frozen out of a box! But, it’s all home assembled. Extra cheese.

This turned out amazing. Spatchcock chicken with a head of garlic, lemon, rosemary and thyme, salt and pepper. Browned in the cast iron pan, then roasted at 400F until breast reaches 155F.
So much flavor, so simple!

Back from a newish local restaurant. Best meal I’ve had in years! Won’t post everything, but here’s the locally caught bluefin tuna tartare and wagu beef courses…

Tacos! New thing was the pre-chopped taco meat we got. Marinated it in soy, oil, cumin, chili, oregano, and pepper for 4 hours, cooked until everything thickened. Bonkers yummy.

This is a Fred’s steak. Yes, it’s suppose to look like that 😆. An absolutely amazing marinated steak invented around 60 years ago by a SF Bay Area butcher. It’s legend for locals. Don’t live there anymore, but the wife made a trip to the area, and brought this back.
Maybe the best steak I’ve ever cooked.

Haven’t posted a food pic in a while. Chicken thighs with olives, garlic and lemon. 10 minutes to assemble, an hour in the oven!
