I generally try to avoid posts, because you're not changing anyone's mind on the Socials, and I don't need an echo chamber. But, I'm actually clueless about this...

Why do so many people who have absolutely no chance whatsoever of winning, run for President? Can’t just be their need for attention. Is it to raise a ton of money? Yes, some misuse funds, but not all.

Anyone have an actual clue?

@kay_dub I do know oppositional parties will support losing candidates behind the scenes.

@kay_dub Raise their profile, buff their brand, acquire bargaining points, become a VP candidate, get a book deal, pathway to governorship…or just generally pump their already and necessarily large ego.

@maybeimaleo That actually makes sense! "buffing their brand" is the most concise description I can imagine. Thank you!

@kay_dub

1. They are narcissistic and want attention
2. They are too stupid to understand they have no chance of winning a primary
3. With dark money. Super PACs they also have a chance to gain a lot of $ for themselves. So it is also greed
