"Thinking"
What does that really mean?

Is it quiet contemplation with a random swirl of thoughts slowly gestating an idea or opinion?

Or, is it a process of deconstructing the complexity of an issue into unique parts. Then assessing each part and reassembling them back into the whole to understand it more fully.

I started my life thinking with the first approach.
Now I use the second approach and I'm a much happier and more successful person.

If reading or hearing about a topic still doesn't provide enough insight, then use an AI to explain it to you in more simple terms. I do it all the time. Approaching a complex topic with humility is a useful skill to exercise.

The fall of democracy begins with the statement:
"Well, it sounds like a good idea to me."

If you lack discernment, you will be a sucker.
If you lack a moral bearing, you will support atrocities.

Everything will be fine until it isn't.

Don't use authorities for your guidance.
Try harder to understand the critical topics of our time.
It is the duty of a citizen to understand and not justify their ignorance.

@Dane
Pink Floyd filled the same stadium in the early '90s. I was there!

@grayman
Our building's roof is in a perfect spot for the show. I like to call it the front row. We throw 3 parties this weekend for friends and coworkers.

A beautiful day over the San Francisco Bay for the Blue Angels performance today!

I just got the first layer of system working!

It takes and address, gets the google streetview, identifies all of the trees, then erases them so that the house is not obscured.

I'm planning to use this to build a service that plots the perimeter of the house and all of the trees relative to the perimeter.

Then we'll use any photo associated with the house to assess every tree, bush and object and provide the owner with guidance on how to harden their property from wildfires.

@ATXJane
That too.
Although, I think it is worthwhile to test for this lack of capability.
As someone that has made a career out of structuring messy things (mgt consultant), I can understand how people end up in the chaotic condition.
I just never had anything to point to except "this is a pretty chaotic mind I'm dealing with here."
Now I think I can say "this person cannot think abstractly.
Explain using stories instead."

New insight about chaotic managers:
They can't organize concepts into discrete abstract objects.

Everything is on the same plane of discussion.

You can wander around from one thing to another without discernment or priority or relevance.

AKA: Chaos.

I think the lack of skill to organize your thoughts into discrete, abstract concepts manifests all the symptoms of ADD.

Maybe developing that skill will bring ADD under control?

If you cannot think abstractly, you see people as single entities and not a complex collection of different qualities and attributes.

They are a simple blob in their heads.

This allows bigots and racists to project faulty characteristics to groups of these "blobs".

When you can think abstractly you can build the different parts that are inside that blob. These include:
- Past experiences
- Family and community support
- Economics
- Role models
- Health

These, and more, make the person.
