A warm breeze comes through the window with a scent that I can only describe as "summer".

New word to use: "Qualia"

These are the inner "thoughts" that you have that are evidence of your consciousness. Unfortunately, there is no way to detect them using an external sensor. We can detect the electrical pulses and oxygen and bloodflow, etc. But we cannot confirm that they create specific thoughts.

That's your consciousness.
And, nobody can prove that you have it.

So, we may never prove that AI has become conscious.

We did the same for our condo last year.
It was nice to not have to paint.

But, I had to disassemble the house, pile it up in the center of every room, and sleep on a couch.

The wife was off in Europe being wined and dined by vendors for 2 weeks.

She returned to a perfectly reassembled home with pristine walls and an exhausted husband. Like nothing ever happened.

Software development is akin to being a rabbit.

You go down a hole because you have to.

Then you find another hole in the hole.

Then another in that one.

Eventually you wonder WTF am I doing this for and how many other holes do I need to crawl out of to start making progress again.

Then I drink a martini and watch Youtube videos to calm down.

Having done a lot of painting,
I like to think about all those long molecules coming together to establish a smooth blanket of color over my project.

Then I wake up and realize I have to clean the brushes or it's gonna be a real mess later on.

Now we're getting back to our last thread about the 6 layers of the human brain and abstract thinking. It's what sets us apart from the chimps. Some may not have that 6th layer fully developed and compensate for it with more primal thinking.

I can do that currently. The AI is a cocky, sophomoric source of output.
But, the human can reign it in and make it deliver. It's just a painful journey at the moment.
