I live in the Willamette National Forest:

About a year ago the Forest Service started to use drones to survey fire damage, and re-growth. It is pretty cool. They got some company to go in the field and train workers.
Not sure what "brand" of drone, but they are fairly large, about 2 ½ feet, wing tip, to wing tip. Workers are in teams of two, one with controller, the other with iPad.

Thanks for the info!
There are a lot of point-solutions out there. We need a grand strategy to address the problem at-scale. This initiative will do that. The "drones" will probably be VTOLs capable of lifting 300lbs of water or fire suppressant. Imaging 10,000 VTOLs forming a continuous chain from a vertiport to the wildfire until it is out!
