I've archived my Twitter feed and am spending some time day preserving some data and other people's threads that I fear won't be available much longer.
Quite sad.
Twitter was a great research source.
@jjmacnab I haven't been able to cut the cord yet, though I like CoSo much more
There are people that I will miss, and want to enjoy their company while I can
@jjmacnab I requested my archive link, got it on the weekend, and received more or less a blank page.
I'm sad that only one of my friends came here, several others went to Mastodon, but many of "my" authors seem to be in shock and unsure about what to do and where to go to promote their work once it collapses (since publishers often put this on the authors these days).
The way Musky is going, it might be gone by December.
Are you guys up for the Eurovision frenzy in May?
@jjmacnab Ha, a nice repurposing of this fairly ancient cartoon. 👍
@jjmacnab I’ve been doing the same - re-bookmarking articles to my tablet, copying great threads and memes.
It’s a waste of so many people’s valuable time - and historical records, potentially.
I’m sure there are so many others doing the same.
@jjmacnab I'm thankful that you've come here!
@jjmacnab It was good for lots of things. Like following play by play local high school football that news media would never bother to cover. And without any racist violent antisemitic conspiracy theories. I'll miss it.
