Most states with high Indigenous populations passed laws barring any Native living on a reservation or designated Native land from voting. Indigenous peoples in the United States didn't all get the right to vote until 1965's Voting Rights Act.

I’d be curious to know, during WWII, what percentage of Americans thought we’d lose the war. I would guess it would be in the minority, for a defeat would have been too terrible to contemplate. I see a parallel in the 2024 presidential election, and for the same reason, I am confident Harris will win, because the alternative would be too much of a disaster. I’m betting on right over debacle, since that’s what history, albeit over time, has shown us. Karma? Yeah, I think so.

Myra and I filled out our ballots today. We received them Monday before last, but Myra wanted to fill them out together and discuss the issues. She has been busy with Poll Worker training, making monsters at Knotts, and today was her only day off since they arrived. She has PW training tomorrow, and will put our ballots in the dropbox at her polling then. At a minimum, two Republican MAGA voters have been canceled.
