Leprosy bacteria may hold the secret to safely repairing and regenerating the body, researchers at the University of Edinburgh say.
Animal experiments have uncovered the bacteria's remarkable ability to almost double the size of livers by stimulating healthy growth.
It is a sneakily selfish act that gives the bacteria more tissue to infect.
But working out how they do it could lead to new age-defying therapies, the scientists say.

watched Smile (Paramount+ / VoD)
imdb.com/title/tt15474916/

thought this was pretty good...pretty standard "something is terrorizing me and no one believes me" premise, but it's pretty well executed

Sosie Bacon is pretty great as the terrorized main char, and there's a decent supporting cast of terrorizers

it's tryna same somethin larger about trauma, not sure that totally lands tho

hopefully obv trigger warning for tons of suicides...and one pet murder

Marsh Rating: B

Someone should make a movie on Elon, you know with one of those "All persons fictitious disclaimer".

It could be a horror comedy. 😋

Night of the Living Dead seems tame now, but it was during the Vietnam War/Civil Rights Movement/early organ transplants. A movie where the government lies to you, the unquestioning press is embedded in a militarized police force, scientists tell people to drag their dead out into the street and burn them, the Black guy is the natural leader, the white family man is a backstabbing coward, and the cops kill the good guy in the end would have been very unsettling to people.

I personally feel that any horror movie cannot have a happy ending.

I like this about Korean Horror movies that the feeling of terror is the greatest when you loose hope and that is the best type of ending for Horror movies.

Hollywood horror movies have a habit to continue a franchise they would just show that some part of the horror factor (evil/demon etc) was left alive. This I dont have any love for.

Tough call, especially on what you consider scary. Generally, ghost movies don’t do it for me but Poltergeist is the rare exception. Then there are classics like the very first Halloween and the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Other notable ones I’d pick are Martyrs, the first Saw, Cabin Fever.
