@nerdyguy90 counter.social is a fork of Mastodon. They dont do fediverse thing though I guess. One additional benefit of Mastodon is that you can edit your toots.

@CoSoTips Mastodon has that edit button already, why doesnt COSO have it?
@Brisco_n_Chief People are spoilt by big corporations that steal personal data and show that they give completely free product. They have an army of developers working behind the scenes with the Ad revenue.
What FOSS promises is mostly transparency. There could be chinks in the armor, but over time, it would be as good as other alternatives. At some point FOSS projects too have to think about a business plan if they want to keep the ball rolling.
@CoSoTips I dont know who needs a light mode in this day and age!!
@CoSoTips Also probably as better security practice. You should also suggest people to setup 2FA?
