@barbaraedelman the new puppies are lovely. One is shy and quiet, the other has a ton of energy. Both are always wagging their trails. They actually slept on my lap after I arrived from work and I'm sure that I'll love both. But I don't want any new dog that even resembles the dog that I lost. My family seems OK just to fill the void.

Thank you so much @barbaraedelman . It is a big family, and the puppies are already the center of all attention. 😅 I just don't know how to deal with it... I know that I don't want any dog to just take his place like we do with a broken object.
@MindfulWilliam Yes... It is too much emptiness. He was a gentle giant, so he demanded a lot of our lives (and space). 11 years of constant presence and love.
So, the family adopted two new puppies from the shelter right now. And I don't know how to feel about it because my dog died less than two months ago. #newdog
@ScientistMel I know exactly how you feel. I'm from a very poor upbringing in Brazil. Now that I am a doctor I still feel like I don't deserve it and some of the recognition for my work make me shy. It is so weird.
