Just unsubscribed from the Star Wars sub-reddit and reminded myself of why I don't engage with fandoms on public forums, with the exception of a few here and the fediverse. Don't watch if you don't like it, you entitled, projecting fucking cretins.

Some of the Star Wars announcements weren't my yum, but I'm not meant to enjoy every dish on the menu or send it back before it's cooked. I had low expectations of Andor and ended up really enjoying it.... there's some Star Trek I've seen that I thought was dreadful and will never get a second rewatch; last thing I would think of doing is call bullshit on someone's enjoyment of it on a Discord or Reddit.

@Clavius_42 it's part of a culture where people seek external validation of their subjective views. It's nice to know that other people like what you like but who cares if someone doesn't? Have fun talking about the things you like rather than wasting any time defending it or telling others they suck because they don't agree.

@hallmarc In fairness to the Trek Reddit and Discords, they're better at moderating that type of shit posting. It's all art: we can discuss the brush strokes, the method, creative choices, maybe have different constructive views. "That painting is so lame", "why would anyone think picasso is good" contributes nothing.

@Clavius_42 now there would be a discussion to be had if you were the one spending the money to create the content!
