1/2: My sister and I got an offer on the house today, from some local bidnessman landord guy. The house appraised for $155,500, though he didn't know that. He "very generously" offered $125,000, saying property values on these old homes in this market were "pretty sad". I told him I knew who he was, a slumlord, and that he was dead wrong about the property values and told him the problem with home sales in this locale are because landlords buying them up and renting them out... and keeping...

2/2: ...them in disrepair because slumlords. I told the appraised value of the house, and he said he was a bidnessman and didn't pay list price. I told him I didn't need to or want to sell and that my sister and I are going to do needed work on the house so it will be worth more later. My sister beat me to it, telling him to go fuck himself. I hate when she does that.

Very often, poor people make the worst "rich people". I know that's political heresy, but it's true. Many people are bad "rich".

@thedisasterautist I'm guessing, anecdotally, that just like 1% of the people own 99% of the planet, then 1% of that 1% actually gives a fuck about about anyone else. what is that? 4? 5? fractions don't count

@gls: That's an absurdly large, pretty much comical stretch to say that "rich" means "only multibillionaires", but I anticipated at least one such comment. They usually happen whenever I or anyone else posts about "rich people". 🤷‍♂️

In this post I wasn't talking about Elons or sultans or Russian oligarchs. It was specific to the account it was posted with, as well as being broadly unincorrect beyond that small scope. Lots of "poor people" don't give a shit about anyone either also.
