Looks like ETA for the Twin Lakes area is around 5:30.

The highlighted area is under a tornado watch. Whatever's going to happen is still a couple of hours away from my humble blue dot. At least 15 should be safely home well before showtime.

Per @NWSLittleRock (X):

Severe storms are expected across Arkansas this afternoon and night. All severe modes are possible, including very large hail. Heavy rain and flash flooding will also be possible. The area with the highest likelihood of severe thunderstorms will be the northwest half of Arkansas.

Oh, joy. Severe weather season is right on schedule. Stay alert, prepared, and safe, friends.

Still processing, but sensing mostly a feeling of guarded optimism.

Winds this strong need to be taken seriously. There are more rural/volunteer fire departments throughout Arkansas than professional departments operated by municipalities. Resources get stretched dangerously thin and communities suffer when people ignore burn bans.

Today I'm finally digging into the big pots that were abandoned by the previous tenants. Given that those tools were definitely not the sharpest in the shed, it's doubtful any good could come from trying to salvage whatever planting medium led to their lack of success. I plan to mix my own. An old steak knife quickly turned a sturdy, empty tea jug into a nice, big scoop. Oh, the crazy winds today knocked over the image, not me! 🤣

Prescribed burns throughout the Twin Lakes area are giving a sultry warm glow to tonight's moonrise.

So, @TerraFang 's school district opted for early dismissal today. This is <1 hour of accumulation right now. Safe travels to all affected.
