If one had asked my son or I how either of us wanted to spend this evening, being in the emergency department was certainly not on that list. Apparently he had a nasty accident while driving home from work. All he remembers is coming to, here in the hospital. He's drifting in & out, has an obvious knot on his noggin, and it looks like the seatbelt nearly broke the skin on his neck. Only thing we know for sure is that he does have a wrist fracture. For now, we wait.
@fugitive247 That sounds terrifying. I hope he is ok.

Best wishes thru this difficult time. Been there with my youngest daughter. I don't think I slept for 2 days. Be sure to care for yourself too.
@fugitive247 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Hope he is okay. Scary times as a parent.
@fugitive247 so scary!! Hoping the broken wrist is the worst of his injuries and he’s home resting soon.
@fugitive247 whoa, sounds terrible! Sorry for you both and hope the docs figure out what’s going on. 😟
@fugitive247 Hope he is ok and they check him out completely.
@fugitive247 🖤 I hope everything turns out okay, and they're better quickly.
@fugitive247 I wish him well. As the voice of experience, do know other injuries could take a couple of days to show up. Ex. I had a fracture in a foot I was unaware of because other injuries, shall we say, had my immediate attention.
Right?! Apparently, when he mentioned his wrist, that was the Dilaudid talking. No wrist fracture.
@fugitive247 ❤️ ✨ mojo
@fugitive247 I’m so sorry. Staying overnight is frustrating but having that safety net just in case some other injury makes itself known is nice
Woah, that sounds serious. It concerns me that he’s drifting in & out. Will they scan his noggin?
✨Light on the path ahead for your son’s healing journey.✨ I’m glad he’s safe.
He's being kept overnight for observation. Yes, a possible concussion is a concern. He was quite lucid when the nurses checked his stats and physical reflexes. Laughing hurt, though. Doesn't matter how old he or 15 get, in my heart they'll always be my youngins.
As it should be. 💛
Thanks, everyone. So... Thoracic compression fractures. Ffs. He might be staying overnight since there's not a licensed PT on call rn to fit his brace. Honestly, kiddo staying overnight might not be a bad thing, y'know, just in case.
