I'm sorry, what? "Removed them" on whose say-so? On what basis?
They can't tell anyone what to do unless and until they elect a Speaker.
I'm calling bullshit on this. Change my mind.
@mcfate
I hope your right, i thought Axios was pretty trustworthy.
I will bet you any amount of money on it. Removing them is IMPOSSIBLE, no one's currently in any position to order anyone to do such a thing..
This is something akin to claiming that a report on Kevin's moving his shit into the Speaker's office means he's the Speaker of the House.
But who ORDERED that? Pelosi didn't. The Speaker Pro Tem didn't. There's no rules package in place dictating such a thing.
Doesn't sound even remotely legal to me, if it actually happened. Kevin suckered them into aspirationally moving his belongings, and while not illegal, it seems equal bullshit.
What happens if somehow Jeffries gets elected Speaker? The magnetometers come RIGHT BACK.
@freddyvandam
Um, read the story. That's in the RULES PACKAGE, which hasn't been passed and CANNOT BE until a Speaker is elected.
Bad reporting by Axios. There is no set of rules in place for the so-far unseated 118th Congress.
The ONLY thing they can do in the House is vote on a Speaker, the end. The members cannot even be SWORN IN.
