I'm so tired of people downing Biden for failing to inspire. He's not inspiring - he's a good man with a speech impediment who's spent his entire life in public service. We aren't supposed to want to drop to our knees and worship our politicians. They're servants, not gods. It should matter more how well they serve their people.

Carter wasn't inspiring either, but now everyone awwwws over a 90+. yr old man hefting a hammer for Habitat for Humanity. He is also a servant of the people.

Anyway, I’ve been alive a long time. Survived by the skin of my teeth. The Republican Party has tried to rid the nation/world of my kind the entire time. The Republican Party wasn’t some political party of innately good people who were misunderstood. That’s gaslighting. They were the party of Nixon. Of Roger Stone. Of Ronald Reagan. The only difference now is trump says all the things they always kept silent .. out loud. They’ve always harmed marginalized/vulnerable Americans. Always/all ways.

I think too many people wanna pretend the Republican Party used to be something admirable.. and maybe they were to a bunch of straight white people who didn’t mind harming literally everyone else. Or pretended not to notice. Standing up for democracy and truth isn’t brave .. it’s the absolute basics. Imo.

It’s all the same to me .. just a different name. I’ve spent decades warning about the evangelical extremists .. and here we are. Both men used them to catapult themselves into power.

White supremacy is the main reason twitter is going down now .. bc marginalized/vulnerable people .. namely Black Twitter became too powerful a force. Too knowledgeable. Too good at keeping receipts/facts/truth handy. Too good at playing twitter’s game. So it had to be dismantled piece by piece. Bc cishet white men (not all for you not all types) are supremely fragile in general. But think abt it .. when you’ve never had to fight for a right .. you’ve no fighting muscles. You’re fragile as hell.
