Maybe a hot take, but I think masks definitely should've become a permanent fixture in hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

I mean, the purpose of a healthcare facility is to facilitate the treatment of sick people, not act as a breeding ground for all manner of diseases.

Unfortunately, a lot of people let their stupid f***ing feelings control them - in this case leading to more suffering/deaths from hospitals spreading disease & facilitating pathogen evolution.

It's good that some places are putting hospital/healthcare mask mandates back into effect, BUT they should be *universal*... not just a few places here and there.

The fact that many (probably even most) hospitals don't require the use of respiratory protection is sheer lunacy.

Even my oncologist doesn’t wear a mask. Aside from one or two people, no one in the waiting room does. I had lymphoma. I almost died from a paper cut (not a joke: I was on a bag of antibiotics in the ER)

Wear a mask for people like me. I wear a mask, but if we all do we won’t kill someone who is immunocompromised (you know, like me).

Until I was immunocompromised I didn’t really understand in my gut. It’s very scary and anything you can do really helps.
