“Stewart told corporate America to stop posturing as social activists, while adding that consumers should stop caring so much about corporations’ social justice stances.”
The problem with this shit take is Stewart either DOES NOT UNDERSTAND why it’s important corporate America show it accepts LGBTQ Americans or does not care.
Only by making it part of the lexicon, especially advertising, it shows we are all Americans, not just rich straight white men. Like Stewart.

@feloneouscat This is unfortunately not the first time in recent years that Stewart has said something peculiar and retrograde; I was a tremendous fan back in the day but the years of retirement don't seem to have been kind in some respects. Or maybe he lacks feedback from folks on staff who could have pointed out what a mess this position is? Either way, le yikes.
Personally, I think he has lost touch — he is a multi-millionaire with multi-millionaire problems which are not the same as our problems.
He thinks Biden’s age is more worrisome than Trump’s megalomania. To me this is a major problem.
I watched a few episodes of “The Problem with Jon Stewart” and was stunned as he oversimplified complex problems.
I stopped watching.
Stewart in many ways is like Trump: it’s always someone ELSE’s fault, forgetting that Apple paid for the show and it didn’t live up to its promise.
He seems to believe he is the smartest in the room and that some things shouldn’t be talked about because reasons he is unaware.
But like a bad employee he refuses to believe there are reasons. Everyone ELSE is the problem.

Is Stewart saying that corporate advertising shouldn’t feature Latino or Black Americans? Oddly, he’s quiet about that. But when it comes to dumping on OTHER Americans? “Make them hide in a closet” is his message.
Who made him the decider?
Age has not helped his brain as he seems incapable of understanding what his message says to others.
Acceptance seems to be “accepting people like me”.
Same as it ever was.
