“In campaign documents and media interviews, Trump has floated placing a tariff of 10% on all imported goods and matching tariffs on trading partners with higher rates “an eye for an eye, a tariff for a tariff.” He wants to revoke normal trading relations with China, a legal step that would automatically raise levies on everything from toys and aircraft to industrial materials.”

Which will just cause inflation to skyrocket. Tariffs are payed by the US consumer..

“While his main target remains Beijing, Trump has hinted at confronting European nations over taxes on software, online subscriptions and other digital services. He has declared that President Biden’s fledgling economic cooperation pact with 13 Indo-Pacific countries would be ‘dead on arrival.’”

Trump thinks China and other countries pay these tariffs — they do not. Something he has confused people with because he is ignorant and refuses to learn.

To be fair, conservative leaning “news” outlets pass on disinformation as if it were fact and pretend that somehow this is good (how they come to this conclusion is a mystery).

The bottom line is if the industry does not exist in the US all it does it make things more expensive. Protectionist policies for manufacturing THAT DOES NOT EXIST IN THE US just means higher prices.

Trump hurt American industry be implementing poorly thought out trade policy.

Now he wants to double down on his bad ideas.

If you want to keep your job, and I’m not joking, vote Biden next year.

Trump is more concerned about his revenge than he is about you.

@feloneouscat Trump is the world’s greatest whiner.

He wants everyone to suffer.
