There are many reasons why I live in Massachusetts. This is one. The others are that five of six statewide offices are held by women, we are free to be gay openly, and my transgender daughter has no roadblocks in her treatment. Many, many things are possible in a blue state. Imagine what the nation could look like.

@factivist_0207 I grew up in Texas. Now been in the Boston area over 30 years. I briefly considered purchasing some small acreage north of Austin for potential retirement (would've been a good investment!) but I would never consider TX again. I worry about my mother and sister and other family members. Massachusetts gets there more slowly than it should, and I think we need new legislative leadership, but it rarely goes backwards (exception: Charlie Baker and the T).
