In honor of Gus’s dad and my Nebraska heritage, I’m making Runza’s for dinner tomorrow:
They are wonderful. Nebraska has tons of fast food Runza restaurants, but most people make them at home. They were created by Czech and Polish immigrants at the turn of the century: beef, onions and cabbage beautifully seasoned with only salt and pepper.
@evamarie 👆chaddus bait.
Sounds wonderful!
When Walz spoke in Omaha last week, he said Vance was coming to campaign in Nebraska soon and he didn’t even know what a Runza was. Vance would call it a “hot pocket” which, if you’re a Nebraskan, is tantamount to heresy. 😂
The cabbage is the secret
Yup - that magic Eastern European bit of deliciousness 😁
I haven't had Runzas in a long time, but they were good last time around.
@evamarie looks great.
