The astronauts stuck in space on the Boeing Starliner might have to spend 8 months up there before returning. Their mission was supposed to be 8 days.
I don’t understand how this story isn’t bigger.
From what I understand, Boeing has a lot of ‘splaining to do.
@evamarie There is a LOT of debate going on right now among NASA and Boeing engineers. As you know, Starliner experienced "technical difficulties" before launch and on the way to docking. Although testing on the ground has tentatively identified the problem and a fix was made, the issue isn't fully resolved. Some NASA folks have serious concerns, while Boeing is saying, in effect, "Meh, it'll be fine." NASA is slowly edging towards calling the Muskrat for help.
My favorite part is NASA refuses to say stranded or marooned. They could come home at any time, there's just a high risk of death if they get back in the Boeing ship.
@evamarie it's not bigger because we no longer have news. we get infotainment. there's not way to make this entertaining, so it's ignored
You might be right 😐
@evamarie Good grief! I don't know to which fault in the planning i'm appalled the most. The suits, the return, the egos of companies...
This is a clusterfuck in space, for real!
