Well, losing 300,000 soldiers in the war and having 1,000,000 men flee Russia to escape the draft, is going to put a dent into your workforce. And when your economy is dependent upon the vagaries of oil prices, your economy is like a Roulette wheel.
@evamarie and such things can wreck countries. im thinking back in the 1970s when the oil embargo happened, and the us economy just went to crap due to it.

Nowadays, they don't call Russia "communist," but it is still a fascist police state.
@evamarie ive never liked how they treated dissidents. and there has been brave people doing that and paying the ultimate price.
