Lol, you know something, I'm at the point where I believe only like 1% of the animal rescue stories on those Dodo ads on FB. Suuure, you were riding your bike across literally the entire world and happened to see an abandoned kitten *in the mountains* and you just happened to have a can of puss food to give to her, and then the kitten "followed you everywhere" while you were on a bike doing around 15 mph, until you finally couldn't stand it anymore and adopted the totally non-feral kitten.
No.
Donald Trump is reportedly worth $2.5 billion, but he's just a glorified nepo baby. His father gave him $413 million or so during his lifetime through various schemes and frauds.
If Trump had simply put that money into a low-cost S&P index fund, he would probably have somewhere around $10 billion today.
Great businessman, eh?
When Diamond Jamie talks about a looming recession he's talking about us, not him. They've been killing it lately. 52% profit jump.

Blackrock CEO Larry Fink has been a major donor to the New York City Police Foundation, an organization that supplies equipment and surveillance technology to the NYPD, which has targeted black and brown communities in the city for decades.
You have to wonder what he's worried about from his fellow citizens. The cops get enough equipment from the Pentagon as it is, including armored vehicles and such, thanks to the War On Drugs effort.
I don't know how single parents with only one kid do it at all. I *think* I'd have the strength not to get my grade schooler (I don't have one) involved in every single logistics or purchase decision but I don't know and don't want to find out. I could definitely picture an exchange where the kid asked me "What percentage of the electric bill can we pay this month" and I'd just be like "All of it, which is why you need to go watch CNN Business Report or Blues Clues or whatever you usually do."
According to journalist Jane Mayer, 80% of dark money is in the hands of right-winger billionaires, and 20% of it is in the hands of liberal billionaires.
The punchline is that George Soros doesn't like labor unions.
We've been on our own the whole time.
Believe it or not, only 10.7% of workers are unionized, even though 48% of workers say they'd like to belong to a union. That must mean there's a lot of people who're completely disgusted with the oligarchs who've been trying to destroy organized labor for over a hundred years, doesn't it? 🤔
Was chatting with someone and the subject of folks dissing religious people came up.
I don't care what people believe. I'm agnostic, but as a labor supporter, there's no way to avoid the fact that black churches are essential to the labor movement, and have literally been the only force pushing back against things like gentrification.
Video is for an amazing tune I heard once while driving and having nothing available other than Christian rock radio.

Mood.
Always loved this tune for some reason but it's really hitting the spot today. Listen to the end if you feel like unlocking some crazy-insane-drummer points.

Uh oh, those French are no dummies, they trashed the Blackrock office in Paris! Blackrock is one of the largest companies buying up mortgages in bulk and jacking the prices to Neptune to keep people hopelessly unable to buy homes. As well, their AI system, Aladdin, which is used by, well, all the fund management companies, could crash the entire world's economy if it made an error or got hacked.
Viva la France! 😍

The Proud Boys never really cared about Trump's winning or losing. They're all just mentally ill people who want a race war. That's all they want.
And there's not a lot of them at all. It's irresponsible on the part of the mainstream media constantly to react as if they're a massive force that people should fear rather than a tiny fringe group. That fearmongering makes a small percentage of people afraid to vote. And that may be all it takes next time.
@Embers - Totally agree with that.
@Embers - It'll be interesting to see if all the chatter about rebooting the US's manufacturing sector leads to something. I'm sure the BRICS situation is freaking out our pols now.
@SaltyVeruca - I think there'll definitely be chatter about violence at the polls next year, if that's what you mean, absolutely.
Probably the dumbest thing about Republicans is that they refuse to understand that immigrants don't steal their jobs, corporate decisionmakers do. By blaming job losses on immigrants (and by extension "liberal policies"), dark money-backed disinformation platforms like Fox News and Breitbart reveal that they have no concern at all for cultural harmony, that their main concern is diverting attention away from the morbidly wealthy ghouls who cause all the problems.
@BlueRevolution - The system we have right now is definitely neofeudalism. Over decades, the corporations have gamed and tweaked laws to the point where everything is stacked in favor of their interests and those of land-owners and other bourgeoisie. It would take way too long to unravel the chain of laws and bring fairness.
Citizens' health and well-being is secondary to the preservation of property and corporate profits in America, and that's why all this nonsense won't be lasting very much longer one way or another.
