Us parents, to teenager, for weeks: "Where are all the dishes? Do you have them in your room?"
Teenager: "No! I only have one or two dishes in my room!"
Repeat every few days for weeks.
Teenager *FINALLY* cleaned room.

@ehurtley I know this all too well. Both from my own dish hoarding (laziness) when I was a teen and now with my teenage daughter :D
@nevikjames Yeah, I always had a notoriously messy room as a teenager, but I made a point of never leaving dishes in the room. If dishes came in, they left as soon as I was done. (HATED ants.)
@ehurtley I wasn't as pragmatic. There was one time I found maggots underneath my bed from a plate that had some food residue on it. Yaaaaaaah, that plate had been under there for a bit of time.
