FunFact:

Did you know you can now use googles find my device app to find a device while that device was without internet/mobile connecting?

you’ll be able to find your phone even if it’s offline by using help from other Android devices silently relaying your phone’s approximate location - the network will also support new Bluetooth tracker tags - Find My Device network supports devices running Android 9 or later

There's over 20k files in the, gmail app, 17k of which are under 4 kB. In iOS, the minimum file size allocation is 4 kB, so having many small files causes unnecessary size bloat.

(again a reason why iOS apps are bigger than Android apps 🤷‍♂️)

A good thread about this issue I read a while back breaks it down further;

Good question

its a frequent problem in iOS app size

When downloaded, iOS apps contain all languages that an app supports, whereas on Android, a user will only download the languages they need

This is *one* of the reasons that Android apps are typically smaller than iOS

Britain will not get any refund on the £270 million paid to Rwanda for the Conservatives’ asylum scheme

archive.ph/xD3L2

UK has already paid £270 million to Rwanda as part of the Migration and Economic Development Partnership but not a single migrant has been forcibly deported to the east African country. Only four failed asylum seekers have voluntarily flown to Rwanda after being offered £3,000 to do so.

Knowing police can't use an overdose as a way to "hold the house hostage" and search it without a legal warrant could save lives

That's why its a "game changer"

Well, dam wish there was precedent in Scotland for this "game changer" for several reasons

Main reason a lot of people when dealing with someone who has overdosed in a house/flat won't call authorities cause they know police will arrive 1st, usually they do before any ambulance, they try dealing with it in other ways they ways ain't pretty and result in deaths more often than not

Meanwhile;

Appeals Court Tells Cops They Can’t Hold A House Hostage For Hours Before Finally Deciding To Get A Warrant

a drug overdose would suggest the presence of illegal drugs. But their decision to hold a home hostage while they engaged in an ancillary investigation shows these cops were only concerned with turning an unfortunate event into criminal charges.

@Christmas_Snow not got a dog in this fight myself

Really i don't particularly care about it - not my country and all - 90 percent of what's in news is bullshit anyway its there to provoke a reaction and get people fired up

UserLAnd gives a pretty smooth experience. It takes less than a minute to set up new Linux distributions as guest sessions and you can connect to new sessions almost instantly using either OpenSSH or VNC clients

performance is pretty good, considering my limited hardware

I had tried this app before just thought I'd check it out again

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UserLAnd

There are a number of chroot environments and containers which can be installed on Android in order to run a minimal desktop Linux distribution on a phone or tablet.

Enter UserLand a utility for running Linux command line and desktop software on mobile Android devices. UserLAnd will even run complete Linux distributions in an isolated environment on your phone.

Australia, the U.S., the U.K., Canada, New Zealand, Germany, the Republic of Korea and Japan says that APT40—also known as Kryptonite Panda, Gingham Typhoon, Leviathan and Bronze Mohawk—is responsible for attacks against Australian government and private sector networks as well as in the United States. The group has previously been attributed by the U.K. as being part of the Chinese Ministry of State Security

Cybersecurity agencies from eight countries have issued a warning that China-based hackers have been accessing government networks—and doing it with great efficiency.

Loved Stargate SG1, and all the films, not seen Stargate origins: Catherine yet though, i never got into watching any of the others Stargate Atlantis or Stargate universe

I had seen a few episodes from each over the years but never watched from start to end

Started watching Atlantis few weeks back and now on series 3 better than I thought it would be

Is Stargate universe worth watching?

Pesky wrath are just pesky things though

@Render yup blatantly manipulating casualty figures in such a way while ignoring the fact that combatants are counted as civilians by Hamas is dishonest, to say the least, and spreading Hamas lies is downright insulting

Some aren't even hiding the fact they have an agenda
