A new way to PIP

Just head over to
chrome://flags/#global-media-controls-picture-in-picture

flip the flag to ‘enabled’, click that blue restart button and the next time you pull up a video that supports PIP (YouTube is the obvious choice, but many services use it), you can now look in your notifications tray for a new PIP button.

Back in June, a new Android feature was spotted called “Nearby Share”

It was basically Google’s answer to Apple’s AirDrop feature that allows users to share files and other things between devices quickly and easily, without the fuss or muss of sending emails or instant messages

my advice is disable, and keep that shite disabled, at all times

open Android settings > type in search "nearby sharing" tap it > switch that fucker OFF

and remove the "quick settings tile" also

i have noticed over past few weeks some users making individual toots and numbering them /1 /2 etc.....as threads

creating a thread on CoSo

reply to your own first toot then reply to the second toot and so on and so on

this will show a "show thread" option inside your toots

i have just noticed with chrome the groups column slides from left to right which can show it blank at times

hover over the groups column then scroll left/right within that column

ik a few users were having issues with groups column in chrome showing blank

this might be the issue and fix for you

if, like me, you clean cookies and site data for CoSo every now and then you might get a

"oops we are having trouble authenticating you"

msg with Gippy waving his fist at you < this could be because after a CoSo cookie wipe after logging back in the Pro features don't work < reload/refresh CoSo > unpin the groups column then open the groups column and pin it again if needed also

how to block the "social share" buttons that show inside websites you visit

cause everytime you visit a website with on of they share buttons some of your data is sent to the service using such a button even if you don't tap it to use it

to get a URL for specific posts/msgs inside public groups you tap the three dots right side of post/msg

then hit "get URL"

once URL is shared and someone taps the URL a new tab opens inside the group the post/msg that the URL links to will then flash yellow for a few seconds to highlight it

head to security and you can change your encryption key password

personally i prefer memorable passphrases

if you forget/lose it you can still access your group settings and reset the key anytime you want

new way to multitask with split screens on a Chromebook

In a nutshell, this new feature will allow users to go into overview mode and then grab and drag any open window to either side of the screen to snap that window into place at full height and 50% width

this has been available since ChromeOS 83 via a flag

As of Chrome OS 85, anyone can use a high refresh rate display with their Chromebook just by selecting it in the settings

Open Settings

Click on Device in the side menu.
Select Displays.
Use the Refresh Rate dropdown box to choose your desired figure.

You'll have a chance to confirm that you're happy with the change then or revert back to whatever you were on before if you're not
