Promotion of alternative social platforms policy

What is a violation of this policy?

At both the Tweet level and the account level, we will remove any free promotion of prohibited 3rd-party social media platforms, such as linking out (i.e. using URLs) to any of the below platforms on Twitter, or providing your handle without a URL:

Prohibited platforms:

Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Post and Nostr

-- twitter support

^^^

This policy by twitter support has now been deleted

Can only assume it has been reversed or is being reversed or it's gonna reappear with new updates

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@ecksmc
I think the keyword here is "free".
They're losing ad revenue hand over fist and so they're trying to force more paid promotions.

@stueytheround

Also Musk trying to justify why he suspended mastodon twitter account and stop certain domain URLs working

Funny how these new policies just appear after Musk suspends accounts

@ecksmc there's now a poll asking if they should do the policy
