@duglop Can you say "Star Wars"? Doesn't matter. Even if Republicans were able to all leave Earth in large ships & land on another planet, they'd never be able to keep the ships running or restart the space program from there. They don't have the science.
Simply put:
If you aren't smart enough to fix what's wrong with your own planet, what makes you think you're smart enough to successfully leave this planet & set up shop on another one?

@duglop I hear ya. I was off on my own tangent, perhaps because I associate our current space program with that ideolog Leon Skum*, who is obsessed with sending humans to Mars.
