Newbie here needing some #help. One thing I keep struggling with while reading the docs is accessing my preferences or settings. I have figured out that I can scroll through notifications until I see a post of mine and click on my username. Is there an easier/faster way? Or does this become moot after a few days?
TIA
@ceorl Nope, still not seeing it. I have to say, the UI seems a little buggy this morning. Sometimes I can scroll left and right and others not. Also, right now, I can't get back to the account settings screen in the right column. If I click back, it is showing Lists. Back keeps toggling between Lists, which I don't want and Profile. I can't get to the column where Settings is displayed.
But I'll keep playing around. thanks again
Try typing "gs" then in any non text entry field.
Or reload the page, or click the Counter Social banner for a reset of the page.
@dbvirago
You can only scroll left or right, if there is something there to scroll to.
I should ask, are you using one of the phone apps or a browser to access CoSo? Most of my experience is in the browser app, there are some little differences.
@ceorl Browser, but mostly on an external monitor with no touch screen. I just found the tiny scroll bar. I was using arrow keys which only partially worked.
Is there a way for all the columns to show, or do I need to zoom out my browser. I would have more #columns, but the scrolling thing would get old.
@dbvirago
Good, making progress :)
I never use the scroll bars, only control/mousewheel for zoom and shift/mousewheel for side scroll.
The full desktop CoSo is kind of a "spatialized" experience, as you can have many columns and vast amounts of information if you choose, but then you have to kind of treat it like google earth, zooming in and out, scrolling to other areas and zooming in :)
@ceorl Shift-Scroll wheel. I never knew. Thanks!
@dbvirago
It is also possible that element just didn't load, but it should be there right above the text entry.
Since you spoke of visibility, I should mention that we now have a light mode in addition to the default dark mode.
Also, on desktop, I find zooming with control/mousewheel and side scrolling with shift/mousewheel to be invaluable.
One more power tip -
to access settings from anywhere, just click anywhere other than in a text entry field,
then type the letters "g" and "s". Voila! your navigation panel should pop to the top. ;)
@dbvirago
maybe scroll that panel down a little? there are a lot of panels, some within panels ;)
Should look like this ....
