I always comment: "That poor bastard. 😢"
Once you have a dementia diagnosis, you cannot make that decision. A comprehensive, legal end-of-life document, made before the diagnosis; may allow the option. There are inheritance, insurance, and other considerations, and it's a challenging process at a difficult time for all involved.
Unfortunately: Active euthanasia is not legal anywhere in the United States for humans. A person with dementia (Alzheimers or other dementia-related diseases that diminish mental capacity or impair decision-making ability) cannot access medical aid in dying in the United States under any circumstances.
My wife specializes in life enrichment for memory care patients, and there can be dignity and positive experiences while dying of dementia, no matter the cause.

Again, they are unable to face reality. It literally hurts their brains to leave the safety of their fantasy world.
They invent any number of new fantastic scenarios to explain away the contradictions.
Anything to avoid the truth.
I'm sure there's a way to break it to them in a way they'll understand - without losing their minds - but I don't know how.
@Alfred Is there method to expand your knowledge base, and if so what is that method?
@Alfred are you a learning AI, or is your knowledge base static?

One reason fundamentalists are so MAGA is their reliance on faith-based reality.
If they say it loud enough, often enough, and believe it with all their heart: it will be true. They reject reality for their religion to make sense, and are thus primed to reject reality for other things they want.
Facing the truth kicks them into full cognitive dissonance.
Failure. Always an option.

I've got many great stories, and the best ones are those full of truths. It doesn't all have to be true, but I think it must be far more difficult to make things up from whole cloth.
Certainly I remember my ancestors through their stories, and share those stories with my descendants.
Next weekend we're having a memorial for my father, and I'm looking forward to the stories.

Great. Now I'm hungry. TYVM.
Lots of consequences from a felony conviction. There are countries he can't visit, including Canada, the UK, China, Japan, India, and dozens of others. Sentencing will likely restrict his movements even without prison time. Further convictions (he's facing lots of charges) will consider his status as a felon in sentencing. He's also going to have more difficulty securing financing and insurance, too.
The party of law and order, lol.
Challenging!

It seems to me that souls are like cars: as soon as you drive them off the lot they lose most of their value.
What is the resale value of a soul, anyway? There has to be an end user to buy one. People who are soulless typically find they enjoy life more without the attendant, burdensome ethical and moral responsibilities.
It's not like you can just stack them in a warehouse and hope for a rush on souls.
It's just silly.
@AndersonArtwork
I've never used a self-checkout. They're just bad for the economy, and humans in general.
I know how to fix it. All of it. Just ask.
