I used to work with a guy in NY who was a hunter and spent a lot of time upstate killing Bambi and swimming in his own filth.
On a good work day in the Bronx, nowhere near hunting or jars of his urine, he smelled like a dead raccoon on the highway in the summer.
I keep thinking about this because that's where Robert Card probably is right now. In a perch surrounded by booby traps eating his toenails.
I was joking with my dietician a month ago that after fat being the enemy in the 80s/90s, and then carbs like bread and pasta being the enemy, the next enemy would probably be plants or protein. Enter the Plant Paradox Diet. https://www.webmd.com/diet/what-to-know-plant-paradox-diet
Don't want to oversimplify or crap on anyone who swears by it, but I'm at a point where I'm like: Eat food. Your body needs it to survive. Don't starve. Life is short. Our obsession with food & body perfection is way more unhealthy than 99% of foods.
@PaganMother @piquant00 they have ads on the website & the app, even with a paid subscription. I had no problem paying for the $104, when I first subscribed 3 years ago.
But the price now is ridiculous for how little I used it, not to mention how complicated it is to use the subscription, the app constantly logged me out, the website would never remember me.
I pay for WaPo and viewing the articles with my subscription just works, I can't remember the last time I had to login.
' Clickbait is a text or a thumbnail link that is designed to attract attention and to entice users to follow that link and read, view, or listen to the linked piece of online content, being typically deceptive, sensationalized, or otherwise misleading '
Old school version -
' Yellow journalism and yellow press are American terms for journalism and associated newspapers that present little or no legitimate, well-researched news while instead using eye-catching headlines for increased sales '
@Faay I've had mine opened today and yesterday, started the week off with a low burn on the pellet stove to take the edge off in the house
I will say this...
This should be a chilling example to people who think that they are protected/assisted by any kind of information/communication sphere.
Unless you are ready to use analog means of communication [think; pigeon corps, dixie cup phones, etc] government forces can shut your shit down over wide swathes of territory any time they want if it suits them.
Most here are already aware of that fact.
I'm more surprised at how many people were not aware of this.
@ordenauta I've found it to be much faster then windows in-built copy, the moving of files ends up being a paid feature
@Finkle I have a friend that has one of them and he seems to love it, it provides his cat entertainment (and us by extension) endless entertainment as well
@ordenauta is this using windows copy? If so may I recommend Teracopy(https://www.codesector.com/teracopy)
@Faay still haven't taken the AC out of my window yet 😅😅😅
@Irishroze wonder why they allow concerta to be mailed, I've been told before that my generic Adderall cannot be mailed to me, also I looked up the differences between both meds, while they're both stims apparently my Adderall is not extended release, that explains why I start to lose focus halfway through my workday -_-
@piquant00 @PaganMother thank you! Will allow me to continue getting news from my price gouging local newspaper. First year 79... Next year 229
@PaganMother If you're a #Firefox user I recommend the bypass paywalls clean add-on.
