Thoughts:

Taking in the massive metacrisis that is the world today. Knowing that we have passed many environmental tipping points. Many institutional and systematic failures. Can be overwhelmingly depressing. I say go there anyway. Your response should be grief. Grief fucking hurts, and many will do anything to avoid it. Yet grief is survivable, it changes you. It is hard unavoidable work. And in so doing you will find something sacred. Nature, grandkids, dogs, your own sacred self.

Recognize that in your grief, you are still here. You have some agency. You can do something about it. You don't know how, yet, or the best way, yet. We need to care about doing nothing else but figuring that out, and acting on that. Then when it is insufficient figure that out. And then do that. Over and over. There is no master solution, no one complex plan. There is only doing, assessing, and then doing again.

Let the sacred carry you in this grief. Into action.
