How many of you read aloud to your lover. Or write letters by hand, on paper. Do things before they are asked of you. Sit in silence listening intensely to your lovers words. Habit and boredom are the death of love, spontaneity and humor feed it. Disagree lightly, and hold no grudges. But also speak passionately about your beliefs and ideas. It is a dance, not a race. Water flowing is the model.
These, and more need to be taught to those striving for connection.

I had the most wonderful husband, and we had one of those things that can be called 'a love for the ages'. He died suddenly last year. There will never be another him.
When he was made, they broke the mold afterwards.
