Was listening this morning to oddities and obscurities when this wedged itself firmly into my personal meatspace.
It's "Oostend, Oostend" by Cos.
Feelin' goofy today.
Here's Sandra and Jeroen van Veen playing Erik Satie's "Trois morceaux en forme de poire: Manière de commencement. Allez modérément".
Listen to it back-to-back with "Gnossienne: No.1" and hear the vague reminiscences of the "Succession" theme.

As of Monday 02-12-2024 at 18:00:01 ET, CounterSocial has NOT responded to any warrants, subpoenas or other formal orders from any government agency. Further, as of the same timestamp, CounterSocial has never turned over any encryption or auth keys to anyone. Neither have we installed any law enforcement software or equipment anywhere on our network or provided any enforcement organization a feed of any user content transiting our network. It's sad and discouraging that most news and information I am shown is scary, negative, depressing or rage-inducing.
I'm going to try to post at least one real story or (factual) news that is positive whenever I visit this site. Something that I find encouraging. Would #goodnews be the right tag? (or is there already a more appropriate one for stuff like this?)
Anyway, I found this one to be encouraging. I dunno, maybe humans have a chance, after all.

Huh. Well that escalated quickly.
It's fascinating.

Good morning, CoSo!
Today's a good day for some Carbon Leaf. In reality, any day is a good day. So let me start you off.
Here is "The Boxer" by Carbon Leaf.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain
Another dreary day outside, but this album hit me just right for some reason. He's got a great voice for prog (though he doesn't start until around the 2 minute mark).
Here is the album "Kintsugi" by John Holden. Enjoy!

Take time to grin today.
Watched "Coherence" again last night. It holds up. If you haven't seen it, and even if you think you hate science fiction, it's a low budget yet thought-provoking film that will stick in your head for weeks after viewing.
Tonight it's going to be "Living". Also a second view, I felt compelled to purchase the Blu-Ray after initially seeing it on streaming. If you are a cinephile, this is an amazing creation. A feast. I was in love with it from the opening titles.
Bill Nighy? A true star.
TFG's apparently fake $48 million debt will take him to the same place (and hopefully soon) as the guy he loves talking about lately.
Al. You know, Alphonse Capone. Have you heard of this guy? He was a great American. A great guy. A powerful man. A great man. We all need a powerful man, don't you think? Like Viktor Orbán. There's another great guy. Strong.
