Thanks @Hisabah for reminding me of my favorite Beatles song. Inspired by Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" played backwards, I think it's just gorgeous.

Some pretty good articles for archidevs who work on big problems (or at least enjoy reading about them):

Cool, thanks for the feedback and advice. Dallisgrass is somewhat similar to crabgrass, but it is very fast-spreading and VERY hard to get rid of. I've even been (attempting) to pull the entire ring/crown oout of the ground when it's still moist in the morning, but it still comes back.
Thanks for giving me something new to try. 🙂
This is a long shot, but has anybody out there ever had luck getting rid of Dallisgrass in their yard? I've tried most of the suggestions online. Now it feels like my only option is to try and find the chemicals that are no longer for sale in the US (but which worked very well), or to plow the entire yard under, nuke it with something that kills everything, and start over.
Or, go to some sort of desert lava rock landscaping motif, but the neighborhood association frowns on that option. 😞

Some days I want Gojira and Mastodon. Or Blotted Science.
Today is not one of those days. This piece is delicate, lyrical and beautiful. For those times when you're not in a heavy mood, check out the whole album. Recommended.
Here is "God if I Saw Her Now" by Anthony Phillips and some friends (from the album "The Geese and the Ghost")
