PSA: If you have been relying on your insurance plan to get free (or low-copay) COVID tests, go and get them NOW. Insurance plans are likely to stop paying for them on May 11th.

Every so often, usually on a weekend morning, I'll catch myself after I've completely lost an hour or two watching "best of" clips from shows like BGT/AGT/*GT or The Voice, even though I never watch those shows on their own.

Some of them, I confess, leave me openly crying. Yeah, I'm odd that way about music.

But this one... this one is special. The song itself is amazing, no matter who's singing. But this video never fails to leave me, uh, emotionally rumpled.

Enjoy.

This aired about 5 years ago. Somehow I'd hoped that things might feel a little different by now.

I’m not telling anybody if I win the lottery but there will be signs.

What would be one of your signs?

If parents want their kids to learn about GOD/Ten Commandments, then take them to church/bible study. It's not the responsibility of a school/teacher. THAT'S THE PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY!

I remember my first scary movie experience, but now looking for the title. Anybody know it?

I saw it when I was a kid, and even then it was an "old movie". It was something about invaders (probably alien, but perhaps just supernatural) and the entire special effect being used was a simple flashlight, shined on the wall to indicate where the "scary thing" was moving. I specifically recall it hovering on the wall over someone sleeping.

Traumatic at the time, but now I want to see it for laughs.

For more by this duo, look for Frank Harris and Maria Marquez. Definitely worth the search. Here's another example for a dreamy Sunday morning:

In the late 90's a mysterious CD was released that became a legend for audiophiles. The mystery part was that the artists were not credited, so it took awhile to figure out who they were. The legend part was the engineering that created a huge sonic space bringing out the best in high-end stereo gear.

Here is the first cut from that CD, "Canto Del Pilon" by Daboa

(not as good as a CD recording, obviously)

Bob Curnow's L.A. Big Band came out with their first album of Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays music almost 30 years ago. If you dig Metheny's band at all, you might enjoy the recast of their hits for a big band. I know that I do. Also, anytime Wayne Bergeron and Bobby Shew are involved, count me in.
