I grew up with this group, listening (and playing along) so often that I wore out the vinyl. The note held for one full minute in this song (at the 2:00 mark) taught me about circular breathing. If you've never explored the Crusaders, you're missing an important piece of American music history. If you dig this song, try the album "Gold" for an intro. I only discovered The Enid a few years ago, but they are easily one of the most interesting "rock" bands I've ever encountered. Led by composer Robert John Godfrey, Enid songs are instantly recognizable, as he seamlessly blends elements of smart rock with lyrical, beautiful classical themes. Today's pick is special to me, and gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
