Every damn year the flight back to Newark from Atlanta is a mess. Usually this is due to weather along the coast, so I thought (ha) I was safe this year. Now, of course, there are radar problems in Newark. An hour and a half delay so far. Let's see if they can beat the previous record of 4 hours and 10 minutes.
If it makes you feel any better,
I had a flight from DFW to Washington National with a stop in Memphis. I made the mistake of getting off the plane and not re-boarding in time. The airline people in Memphis were very helpful and got me on another flight. However .... 1/3
the flight that I missed was the last of the day into national . So the replacement flight went Eastern airlines through Atlanta to Baltimore followed by a shuttle bus down to DC to get my rent car and drive to the hotel which turned out to be halfway back to Baltimore. (and on the other side of a routine sobriety check point). 2/3
(that rent car wasn't what I had requested). I had to wait until morning to try to catch up with my suitcase. Having left next to nothing in the hotel room, the housekeeping people assumed I checked out. The rest ended up in Lost and found. The valet was happy to get my car but wanted to know the make. I said damned if I know. The trend for whole week had been set.
@Sr0bi What a nightmare! I hope things get better from there.
I failed to mention that one of the items that was never recovered from the hotel in DC was a souvenir from the Memphis airport which was what got the whole thing off the rails to start with.
@Sr0bi oh no. It's worse. That's terrible.
@chaos440
I don’t think I’ve ever been through Newark without a problem. Ever.
