On August 23, 1967, The Jimi Hendrix Experience's debut album Are You Experienced was released in North America and is widely regarded as one of the single most influential debut albums of all time.
In the second grade, a few years after the album came out, I brought the LP to school for show and tell. My teacher was not having it. She asked us to bring our favorite record and this was it. I was crushed.
