FINALLY!
BBC has revealed the official trailer for a new crime thriller mystery series titled #TheWomanInTheWall, arriving for streaming later this fall (in both the UK and US - it'll be on Paramount+). I've been waiting to see this trailer since August of last year when it was first announced.
#RuthWilson is gonna give, as usual, ONE HELL of a performance. She's EPIC in everything she does.
#PapersPlease should be required in the education system. For real.
: I figured this out long ago, and it has put me at odds with a lot of people, including family, close friends, longtime friends, former friends, colleagues, former colleagues, and others. It's one thing to be hopeful but another entirely to be selfish and delusional. (No, that's not a nice way to put it, but it seems the only way to put it to get some people to actually think about it.)
: Predictably, I received a LOT of angry DMs from people who felt incredibly seen and personally attacked by my comments, and all of them used the rationale that it was someone else's systemic oppression over the centuries or millennia that "forces people" (read: them) to do it. Then there's also the classic stitch that "those other people are way worse about it than [them]". -- Behavior is a choice. It may initially be a reflex, but if continued, soon enough it's a choice.
A #hottake, I guess.
Family (chosen ๐ ๐) is different than familial relations (not chosen ๐ซ)
This is a really great concrete analogy for someone like me who struggled until very recently with the expectations society tells us we should have of our families of origin.
I am not going to waste time or energy being mad at a person who doesn't have oranges ๐ because they are a hardware store ๐ ๏ธ. That doesn't make any sense.
Keeping myself at peace โฎ๏ธ for my chosen loved ๐ ones is a much wiser use of my time and energy.
