HiPOD 26 Oct 2022: Channel-Like Features in the Cerberus Region
In the infrared, these channels contrast clearly with the surrounding terrain, but are likely relatively shallow. High-resolution stereo observations could shed some additional light on the character and age of these channels, allowing them to be placed in context with nearby features like the Cerberus Fossae.

HiPOD 13 Nov 2022: Seeing Beneath the Surface in Morava Valles
Morava Valles is a small outflow channel in the Margaritifer Sinus region of Mars. Several of the interior channels of Morava emanate from a localized region of terrain that is caving in, also called βsubsidence.β
@wrinkled_time
Awe...I was hoping it was another black hole telescope image projected. LOL
Awesome image.
Would you know why CoSo adds their URL watermark to such images, in the corner?
I've seen some with this, and others without.
Thanks
It's like a joke:

HiPOD 25 Nov 2022: Icy Northern Dunes
Like Earth, Mars has seasonal polar caps that grow in the winter and retreat in the spring, but on Mars the seasonal caps are composed primarily of carbon dioxide (dry ice). Carbon dioxide is the major component of the Martian atmosphere, and a significant fraction of the mass of the atmosphere is cycled through the seasonal caps every year.
Awesome color contrast!
Curious if you know why some people's images have the CS watermark/URL, while some good ones like yours doesn't?
I prefer the latter.
Thanks
The challenges of space flight often overlap with earthbound challenges; like when we solved solar panels for satellites, we got the same for earth.
When we developed microchips for Apollo, we got the same for here. Control systems for clean water etc.
Filtration filters urine in orbit, allow villages to filter contaminated water, etc...
Those things might have Eventually been done anyway, but spaceflight projects accelerate those challenging solutions faster/better/cheaper.
Does anyone know why
@Oma_Trisha
would give me this kind of wackadoodle reaction?
She complained about my watermark question being asked, but wouldnβt explain. π€·ββοΈπ₯
Wow what a pleasant gal!
Do you work for CS or something?
Your motivation for not explaining the watermark is what exactly? Why chime in to begin with?
